That’s why we wrote this article. After reading this you’ll know where you can travel with a car subscription and what you should do if you’re planning to go abroad with a Wagonex Car Subscription.

Where can you travel?

You can travel anywhere in Europe with a Wagonex car subscription.

Travelling abroad on subscription

What do you need to set up before traveling?

If you want to travel abroad with a Wagonex Car Subscription, you’ll need to follow these steps:

  1. Go to your profile on www.wagonex.com to find contact details for your supplier.
  2. You will give the supplier of the vehicle the full details of your trip
  3. We will work to make sure your documentation is ready before you leave for your trip.
  4. Your VE103 form will be created, which allows you to travel abroad.

In step 3, we talked about giving the supplier the full details of the trip, this is what you need to provide:

  1. Departure and return date
  2. A list of countries you plan to drive in
  3. Registration number
  4. Make of the vehicle
  5. How many drivers are to be covered
  6. Whether you plan on towing anything

At the minimum we require the information at least 14 days before, we can’t promise you will be granted permission otherwise.

The only documentation you need is the VE103 form, if you don’t have this, it will be your responsibility and you could be forced to stop at the border until it has been sent over.

Is it the same for business travel?

Yes, it is the same for business and personal subscribers.

Does Wagonex insurance still cover you?

Yes, you are insured to drive in Europe if you have taken out a Wagonex Insurance Policy.

For further details, please see the Wagonex Private Car Insurance Policy Document here.

If you use your own insurance, you must notify your provider before you leave.

Prepare your car for traveling.

If you’re going to be driving for a long time, it’s best to make sure your car is ready for it.

We’ll go through a POWER check here:

Petrol: Make sure you have enough fuel to get to your destination, or you plan your trip accordingly.

Oil: Make sure your engine has enough oil and is at sufficient levels.

Water: Make sure you have enough water to cool your engine, and top up your windscreen wiper fluid.

Electrical: If your front or rear lights are malfunctioning, it’s a traffic offense and you will be stopped by the authorities. You may be required to bring a set of replacement bulbs depending on the country you travel in.

Rubber: You should check your tyres on a regular basis but it’s even more important when traveling abroad, check your tyres, the tread depth and that you have the correct tyre pressure for your passenger and luggage load.

You have everything you need to have an amazing trip!
