The Peugeot e-2008 is an SUV based on the terrific Peugeot e-208 but it’s a bit bigger and with a bit more attitude. The main difference is the interior which is taller than its smaller sibling so you get more headroom. It makes the entire car feel roomier. We also think it’s really handsome.
And it’s 100 percent electric.
There’s 134bhp on tap. Peugeot estimate that the all-important range is 206 miles and when the time comes to recharge, find one of the increasing number of fast chargers, and you’ll have an 80 per cent top-up in 30 minutes. If you have a wall charger at home, you’re looking at around 7-8 hours for a full charge. Plug it in overnight.
Out on the road, you’ll enjoy a seriously cushy ride (most French cars are) and, thanks to the electric power, it’s quick off the mark and incredibly relaxed on longer journeys. And of course, you ride along in near silence.
The Wagonex e-2008 is a fully loaded GT specification model. The dashboard is called 3D i-Cockpit. It’s a really stylish, user-friendly bit of kit which allows you to configure the digital screen behind the steering wheel and the centrally placed 10-inch touchscreen that controls just about everything. The graphics are nice and clear and easy to use when on the move.
You get sat-nav, air con, leather upholstery, DAB radio, heated front seats, reversing camera, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, front fog lights with cornering function, tire pressure monitor, wireless phone charging, and LED headlights all included. There’s an impressive list of safety kit too.
The Peugeot e-2008 feels like a very mature small car. It’s surprisingly roomy, is good to drive, comfortable, and well equipped.
And it’ll be super cheap to run. Sorted.
